Review of Rothys
Before I begin my review, let me be honest. Rothys’s price is not teacher budget approved. $125 a pair is more than I have ever paid for a pair of shoes in my life. However, one of my friends on Facebook posted a link for 50% off Rothys, and I decided to give them a try for two reasons. Most importantly, one of my friends had received them as a Christmas present and gave them great reviews. Secondly, their eco-friendly manufacturing process and machine washable were the main reasons I was willing to pay $65. I normally get my school shoes for $35 at the Nautralizer outlet by my house.
Buying shoes for me is extremely difficult. I have tendinitis in my left foot which causes it to swell every so often. I have wide toes, but not a wide with so I can’t wear wide with shoes and buying non rounded shoes is difficult. The swelling can cause shoes to not fit properly after I purchased them. When it comes to shoes I wear in the classroom, I don’t take any chances. I want a comfortable shoe that can handle 10,000 steps.
I ordered a pair of the flat on May 1st and they came in May 8th. I ordered a 1/2 size up, and it was the correct size. I was extremely happy with the fit. Two days later the true test came for the shoes. I walked into some type of mud that stained my shoes. My husband didn’t want my new shoes to go into the washer so he he hand washed my shoes. Unfortunately, one stain still didn’t come out. I followed the washing instructions and waited a day for them to try. They still fit!
I am completely satisfied with my purchase. I will not buy them at full price, because I am cheap. However, you have fifteen more days to purchase them for 50% off if you are a teacher, first responder, medical professional, or hospital staff currently. Now is the time to buy if you have been interested in Rothys.
*I plan on updating this review after a year of teaching. I am in no way affiliated with Rothys.
