Baby Shower Planning: The easy way.

Having a baby shower in the beginning of the COVID-19 scare is less than ideal. However, when you are finally getting a nice, you make it happen. I’m not a fan of spending too much money or having a Pinterest perfect party. I’m all about having good food with people you like. Here is a guide to having the party your mom- to- be will be proud of without breaking your budget.

Step one: Create a Pinterst board to get your color theme and ideas. My sister and I have been playing tennis for over twenty years, so I knew it would be tennis themed. You can find my inspiration on my “Niece Shower” Pinterest board.

Step two: Send the invitations. Since I had a specific theme, I made my invitations through the Spark post app. I sent them through Evite. I recommend sending them through email and text. Many guest thought the text message was spam.

Step three: Make you list for decorations. I was able to get all my decorations free online the first baby shower I hosted because of a basketball theme. If budget is a major factor stick to one color or a sport theme. The dollar store is my only place to go to buy cutlery, napkins, and tablecloths. They have solid colors to match any party theme. Tennis is a harder than most themes so I went through ETSY. BigDot of Happiness’s tennis themed party decorations were beautiful and high quality. The delivery was within a week of ordering. My custom baby shower banner was worth ever penny. You can also find the decorations on Amazon. I like to have a two week delivery window on decorations in case you need to buy from a store.

Step four: Make a list of food. I try to provide options for all types of guest. I always offer a vegetarian and gluten free option. Sometimes I want to cook all the food. However, this baby shower was done after I finished deep cleaning my house. Cooking was the last thing on my mind. I can always count on Costco and H-E-B for my food. I ordered a roasted chicken and swiss roller platter from Costco as my main dish. It had great reviews from several bloggers, and it didn’t disappoint. I had a vegetable platter and meat and cheese rolls. I have the H-E-B spinach dip at every party because people ask me if its homemade. It’s that goo!. I also like to have one hot dish at a party. My husband taught me an easy meatball recipe that is a hit every time (jar of chili sauce and a spoon of grape jelly. Use a teaspoon of sugar if you don’t have jelly). Instead of a fruit tray, I bought two pounds of strawberries and green grapes (to go with my theme). I found a stuffed strawberry cream recipe. I didn’t want to take the time to cut the strawberries and insert the dip. I just left it as a fruit dip. It’s amazing and you should make it! Lastly, to save time I didn’t make a punch. I love a good punch, but I was just too tired. My family loves sweet tea so sweet tea, Gatorade, water and Dr. Pepper was offed to guest. You can purchase the night before or day of if you set a mid afternoon party time.

Step 5: Decide on what game you want. Print them off. There is absolutely no reason to pay for baby shower games. They are free all over the internet. A quick word search associated with your theme is an easy game. I’m not a fan of typical baby shower games. I looked through Pinterest and found a price’s right game. This was so much fun because it’s not a typical baby shower game, and you can add non baby items to make it more fair for all your guest. Avery has free tag templates for you to print out. No printer? Use a friend’s printer or buy cardstock to make your own games.

*I am not associated with any of the stores mentioned in this blog. My opinions are my own.

What are some other things you recommend for having a stress free baby shower?
